In these 20 years, we heard hundreds of different excuses from debtors. It is our task to distinguish the “can’t pays” from the “won’t pays” and to convince them to pay. For the right approach of a debtor, we need to know his financial situation by making searches at the trade register or elsewhere. To cover these costs, we ask a contribution of 50 euro for each file (in case of success, this amount is deducted from the fee). This info is also useful for a possible decision about legal action. Each debt must be treated individually, depending on age, type and criteria of each matter. We try to overturn disputes quickly in order to obtain payments as soon as possible. By far the most important step in collecting debts is contact with debtors by phone. In France and Holland, threatening with legal action may be very efficacious. In Italy, many debtors are not afraid for legal action as Courts are inefficient, so that we try to convince them by phoning even four times a day. Studio Ifrane is managed by Mr. Alexander Peter van Duijvendijk, attorney at law, member of the NVRA, the Dutch association of legal advisers. He worked 9 years in the Paris’ office of Stibbe, one of the biggest Dutch law firms. He created Studio Ifrane begin 1989 in Italy.
